According to a study conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Census ( INDEC ) the Ministry of Tourism informs that the growth of outbound tourism by Argentine Nationals has grown by 20,2% if in the month of July 2012 compared to the same month in 2011. The foreign expense has been 25.9% extra and the length of stay has increased by 24,6%

In spite of the difficulties the world economy is going through international travel has shown to be quite robust and versatile in its recuperation. According to the WTO data the increase in travel for all the Americas between January and June 2012 has been of 5% which is in keeping with the world trade. The most significant winners have been Central America ( +7% ) and South America ( +6% )Latin America has show a development that beats the trend in North America with a 5% development against a 4% for North America.

The European Commission has developed a plan to increase the flow of travellers to and from South America to a tune of 50.000. This means that during the low season it is expected to facilitate that 25.000 South American travellers will board flights bound for Europe between the months of October 2012 and March 2013. By counterpart they expect 25.000 Europeans to travel to South America between May and October 2013. This "pilot" initiative is conducted with the collaboration of EU governments like Spain, United Kingdom, France, Greece, Italy, Poland, Rumania, Slovakia, Lithuania and the participation of Air France, British Airways, Iberia, Lufthansa, and TAP.
